II. PURPOSE OF THE RENCONTRES
The purpose of the Rencontres de Moriond is to discuss recent findings and new ideas in elementary particle physics and other areas of fundamental physics in a pleasant, relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The meeting intends to promote fruitful collaboration between experimentalists and theorists and between various institutes by bringing together a small number of physicists in a beautiful and inspiring atmosphere.
III. SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATION
1. Program Committee
Reza Ansari (LAL, Orsay), James Bartlett (Collège de France, Paris), Jacques Dumarchez (LPNHE, Paris), Yannick Giraud-Héraud (Collège de France, Paris), Marc Kamionkowski (Caltech, USA), David Langlois (IAP, Paris), Christophe Magneville (CEA, Saclay), George Smoot (Berkeley, USA), Marie Treyer (LAM, Marseille), Sylvie Vauclair (OMP, Toulouse) , J. Trân Thanh Vân (LPT, Orsay).
Recent advances in the field have seen the emergence of a well-defined cosmological scenario, and even of a so-called "concordance model". The meeting will be centered on a thorough discussion of the general cosmological scenario, how it has been constructed over the years and how progress will be made in the future. The spirit will be to step back and look at the journey from the beginning of modern cosmology until today, and beyond. Historical perspectives will thus be an integral part of the meeting, together with presentations of the most recent results and prospects for the future. A brief list of topics includes :
All from the point of view of formulating the cosmological model.
If you wish to make a contribution which fits in the framework of the program, please send a title and an abstract (before January 15) to Yannick Giraud Héraud by email or fax :
