The XXXXth Rencontres de Moriond session devoted to QCD AND HIGH ENERGY HADRONIC INTERACTIONS will be held in La Thuile from Saturday, March 12th to Saturday, March 19th 2005. La Thuile is a pleasant winter sport resort located in the Italian Alps, at 1450 m alt., about 120 km from Geneva . The nearest international airport are Geneva (Switzerland)and Milano (Italy). If you arrive in Geneva International Airport, do not forget that you (especially citizens from Russia) may need a transit visa, coming through Switzerland to Italy.

II - PURPOSE

The purpose of the Rencontres de Moriond is to discuss recent findings and new ideas in elementary particle physics in a pleasant, relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The meeting is intended to promote fruitful collaboration between experimentalists and theorists and between various institutions, by bringing together a limited number of particle physicists in beautiful and inspiring surroundings.

3. Contributions :

The detailed program of the meeting will be established according to the latest experimental and theoretical results at the time of the meeting.
Participants who wish to present new results are requested to send an abstract of their proposed presentation (see form)to one member of the program committee with a copy to Etienne Augé as soon as possible (before January 15th 2005 at the latest).
Due to limitation of time, only a restricted number of talks can be accepted.
According to the tradition of the Rencontres de Moriond, a large amount of time will be reserved for both organized and spontaneous discussions. Hence, all participants are expected to play an active role during the entire meeting. Please remember that we make a special effort to bring together theorists and experimenters.
THEORETICAL TALKS SHOULD BE PREPARED WITH EXPERIMENTERS IN THE AUDIENCE IN MIND, AND EXPERIMENTAL TALKS SHOULD LIKELY BE AIMED AT THEORISTS .
Speakers are kindly asked to write their transparencies in BIG letters and preferably only on the upper 2/3 of the sheet.

Proceedings of the conference will be put on the web and published. Instructions will be distributed during the Rencontres. Deadline for contribution will be May 15th 2005.

IV - PRACTICAL ORGANIZATION

1. Conference Dates :

The meeting will begin on Saturday, March 12th, 2005 at 18 h 00 and will end on Saturday, March 19th, at 12 h 30.

2. Conference Facilities :

The following equipment will be available : a slide projector for 5cm x 5cm slides, an overhead projector for transparencies, a laptop computer and a projector for computer presentations. Speakers can bring their presentation on their laptop or on an USB key.
Limited internet connections will be available from the hotel. In particular, a wireless hub will be installed.

3. Transparencies :

Speakers are requested to bring a good photocopy of their talk. This copy will be kept for display.
In order to make these transparencies available on the web, speakers who have their talk in file format (PDF, Postscript, HTML,...) are invited to send them to E. Augé (auge@lal.in2p3.fr).

4. Conference Fee :

The conference fee for participants is 330 Euros. It will cover the cost of the copy of the proceedings and the cost of all social events.

Please avoid cash payment if possible.
If you have to change money, note that the exchange rate in La Thuile is less advantageous than in cities like Paris or Geneva.
Credit cards are not accepted.

5. Accommodations :

Housing will be in Hotel Planibel, La Thuile. Meals will be served in this hotel for all participants.
The hotel bill shall be paid directly to the hotel. Credit card payment, for the hotel accommodation only, can be accepted.
The cost (full board) will amount to 546 Euros (double occupancy).
It will be difficult to obtain single rooms. Only a few will be available at an additional cost of 140 Euros.
Single rooms should be reserved before December 15, 2004.
For accompanying members, the costs are as follows :
- 546 Euros per adult
- 406 Euros per child (6-10 years old)
- 273 Euros per child (4-6 years old)
It will not be possible to find accommodation for your family if you have not requested it by December 30th, 2004.

Important notice:
Hotel reservations are made for the whole session : i.e. from the evening of Saturday, March 12th to the morning of Saturday, March 19th (including lunch before departure of the conference bus to Geneva). Please note that the total cost of the meeting will not be reduced even in the case of partial attendance.
Cancellation of hotel reservations should be made before February 15th, 2005. After this date, the hotel will charge us for the entire cost and we will have to ask the participants who cancel their attendance later to pay for the total accommodation cost as listed above.

6. Accommodation grants :

Partial support from the European Union "Marie Curie" Programme is available for a limited of scientists :

Associated states are : Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway, Switzerland

Please send your application to the secretariat before January 31st 2005.

V - TRAVEL

Information below is not yet definitive and will be updated in november

1. From Paris to Geneva by TGV :

Please note that reservations are compulsory for TGV trains.

Then take the train to Geneva - Cointrin airport, then the conference bus (see below).

2. From Geneva Airport to La Thuile :

a) Conference buses :
departure from Geneva International airport on Saturday March 12th. The bus will leave at 13h30.

Return Conference buses are scheduled to leave La Thuile on Saturday, March 19th at 12 h 30 sharp (after lunch) and will reach Geneva airport and then CERN (if requested) around 17 h 00, depending on the traffic.

5. By car

La Thuile can be reached by car, by the A40 highway to St Gervais, then by E25 to Chamonix, Courmayeur and Pré Saint Didier and then turn to the right in the direction of La Thuile via Strata Stratale Valle d'Aosta (10 km).
If chains are necessary, the sooner you put them on, the better.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please note that your reply to the program committee member who sent you the invitation is not considered as a registration. Registration for your attendance to the workshop and hotel reservation will only be made on receipt of the registration form . Please return it as soon as possible! If it is not received by January 31, 2005, we may not be able to get hotel reservations for you.
